2024年これからの自分たちの在り方は…

What will we be like in the future in 2024?

It's already December this year.

With less than a month left,

The older I get, the more I realize how quickly each year passes.

I'm sure when I'm around 50 years old, I'll feel faster than I do now.

It will be a moment before I turn 60.

By the time you turn 70...? ?

At the end of the year, many people may look back on the year.

To be honest, rather than looking back on what has passed,

The idea is that it is better to keep moving forward.

Correct mistakes while running.

I will be moving to Tokyo next year in 2024, so I will have a little more time to work and live in Fukuoka.

Looking back, I think it was a really nice city.

As I write this blog now,

For the first time, I realized that I was looking back at my life in Fukuoka (lol)

It means that your mind is already moving on to the next thing.

The most important thing about this move is the further development of our company.

In order for a company to develop, we cannot do so unless we, the people who operate it, grow.

I learned a lot from my sales job at Tsukiji, which I started in October last year.

In one year of business, we have many customers,

In particular, there were more customers from overseas than expected.

I realized that today's online society has more influence than I thought.

Along with this, your own ``lack of ability'' will also be exposed.

It is now commonplace that English is spoken in many countries outside of Japan.

Even when I went to Italy before the coronavirus, people spoke English better than Italian in urban areas.

When I went to Korea this year, I was told that I had forgotten Japanese because I spoke in English a lot.

Once again, I realized my lack of language skills and the inconvenience of not being able to speak English.

I'm not proud of it, but

When I was working in Tokyo, I was able to speak English reasonably well.

Now, I can speak less than other elementary school students.

Well, at this point I can see a little bit of my future.

Even if current retail businesses operate within Japan,

Being able to speak English is also an important point for overseas customers.

Even if being able to speak English does not increase sales,

If you can only speak Japanese, you won't be able to make sales.

However, people overseas also have smartphones, so

Even if you take care of me and talk to me on a translation site,

You are disqualified as a salesperson if you make the customer take time and care.

In today's world, "I can't speak English" is no excuse.

Retail businesses that serve only Japanese customers within Japan are more likely to go bankrupt within five years.

This may work for some industries, but

For a micro-company like ours, English is essential in order to survive.

At Tsukiji, I paid a daily allowance to a translator (my sister) to help with overseas customers.

Our translators have English proficiency above native level.

The correct words come out as quickly as you breathe out.

I have been living a life using English for nearly 20 years,

Customers can talk about what they want to talk about and leave happily.

Although it takes time to reach that level,

First, take a step and take action.

This relocation also has that aspect.

It's a fantasy to say, "If you want to learn English, just go to an English conversation class."

Some people are okay with that and some are not.

Needless to say, I am someone who cannot learn properly in English conversation classes.

I know that I can't learn unless I put it into practice and get embarrassed.

Immediately after moving, I plan to spend my days immersed in English.

My goal for 2024 is to be able to carry out light daily conversations by winter.

There is a billiards table on the first floor of the new location that can be used freely from 6pm.

Why not have a bottle of beer in hand and compete against people from Japan and abroad?

I will do my best based on this old stereotype-like delusion.

If you want to change the company, you have to change yourself.

My only choice is "Do I do it? Do I do it?"

All that's left is to do it!

By this time next year, I'm sure you'll be the person you envisioned.

Oh, by the way, eating and drinking was prohibited near the pool table!
