・What is an overhaul?

Overhaul referring to the “Disassembly Inspection Cleaning '' is a type of  maintenance process on disassembling the entire movement of the watch, inspecting, cleaning and washing parts, repairing, lubricating, adjusting, and reassembling.

・Acceptance of overhauls

Overhauls can be performed in-store or by delivery.

If you wish to have your watch overhauled in -store, make a reservation for a visit to our store from the "Reservation Page" on our page. 

If you wish to have your watch overhauled by shipping, please contact us using the form below.

When shipping your watch, please pack it securely using cushioning material to prevent damage to the watch. Shipping method should be a shipping service with warranty and tracking. (Yu-pack, Yamato Transport's delivery, etc.)

*Please do not send your watch by Yamato Transport's delivery Compact or Japan Post's Letter Pack.

*The shipping fee will be paid by the customer.

2. Battery replacement

We will replace the batteries of watches purchased at our store for free.

A battery-powered watch will stop working approximately after 1.5 to 2 years.

To prevent leakage, please request battery replacement as soon as possible after the battery stops.

Battery replacement requests can be made in person or by email.

Please pack your watch with cushioning material and use a shipping service with warranty and tracking (such as Yu-Pack or Yamato Transport's delivery, etc).

*The customer is responsible for all shipping fees to and from the store. Please note that the return postage will be charged on arrival.

3. Belt Replacement

If you are planning to use your watch on a daily basis, we recommend replacing the leather belt every six months to a year as it is a consumable item.

The only cost required for belt replacement is the cost of the leather belt.

We can replace the leather belt either in-store or by delivery.

4. Case Polishing and Replating

 

We offer polishing and replating of your watch case, such as the Cartier Must series.


Here are the prices and delivery terms.

Case polishing price deadline

Re -plating(Vermille processing) ¥33,000 About 2 and a half months ~

*Prices include tax.

*If other work is performed at the same time, the duration of the work will be added to the above delivery time.

Replating is a step of " exterior cleaning " → " plating removal " → " case polishing " → " re-plating".


*We do not offer repair only for replating.

Please apply for the repair as a set with overhaul.

5. Questions for Repair

Q.Is there a warranty after overhaul?

A. Yes. We offer a 6-month warranty against unintentional mechanical failure after delivery of the watch.

Q.Can I send the watch I purchased to the manufacturer for repair?

A. Yes, however, some manufacturers do not accept repairs on old watches.

Q.Can you do partial repairs?

A. Partial repairs are available for some exterior parts, such as windshield replacement and bracelet repair, however, partial repair of the internal mechanism is not possible.

Q. What is " Magnetization"?

A. "Magnetization" refers to the magnetization of a watch's mechanism.

If a watch is exposed to strong magnetism (electrical appliances, computers, magnets, etc) for a long period of time, it can cause the mechanism to become magnetised, resulting in large time deviations and stoppages.

Our store offers free demagnetization of the watch. 

Q.The case of my watch has changed color.

A.The warranty card given with your watch describes how to deal with discoloration of the watch after purchase. If you have any questions, please contact us using the Contact Us form.

Q.I am worried about handling an old watch.

A. Many old watches are not waterproof, so please be careful with water and humidity, and keep your watch away from shocks such as bumping or dropping, as well as magnetism from cell phones, computers, and magnets when storing it. We are committed to providing a reliable after-sales service for our vintage watches. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your purchase.

Q.Do you have genuine belts?

A. We do not sell genuine belts so please contact the manufacturer directly.

Q. Can you clean the bracelet?

A. Yes, we offer a free bracelet cleaning service for all watches purchased in our store. If you are concerned about grime, we can clean your bracelet in person or deliver (in the case of delivery, the customer is responsible for the round-trip shipping costs). 

Q.What is a complete serviced Cartier product?

A. Some Cartier products are repaired by the manufacturer in order to sell them in the best condition possible. If a watch is listed as "Completely serviced by Cartier" on the product page, mechanical parts of the watch have been partially replaced with new ones by the manufacturer.

We accept repairs of watches purchased at other stores.

【Overhaul】

Battery type: 16,500 yen-

Mechanical type: 27,500yen-

Chronograph: from 44,000 yen-

*Parts may be charged separately.

*Special labor charges may be required depending on the brand and model.

【Case polish】

Combined with overhaul: 11,000 yen-

Only finishing: 16,500 yen and up

Re-plating: 33,000 yen-

We do not accept repairs only for re-plating, so please apply for it in combination with an overhaul.

【Battery replacement】

Analog battery replacement 1,100 yen-

【Belt replacement】

Belt replacement only: 5,500 yen-
