無知は「罪」

Ignorance is a “sin”

These are words my father has told me over and over again.
This time, we received a repair request for a customer's watch.
The current model, the Cartier Tank Solo, has been around for about 8 years.
There was also a time delay due to lack of oil and a fairly strong magnetic field.
When we perform maintenance on this watch at our store,

・Overhaul of battery-powered wristwatch \15,000+tax=\16,200
・Battery replacement service
・Porcelain removal service
・Bracelet cleaning service

We performed maintenance with the above contents for about 2 weeks due to delivery.

Now, what would happen if this watch was repaired by the manufacturer?

・Complete service approximately ¥45,000
Delivery time approximately 1 month

It's expensive.
It goes without saying that manufacturer repairs are expensive.
How many people in the world can afford such maintenance costs permanently?
When we explained the details to the customer, he was very satisfied and ordered the repair.

I am not criticizing manufacturer repairs,
This time's story is that if you have a little bit of knowledge, you won't have to pay a lot of important money.

It can be said that some people who receive manufacturer repairs are buying "peace of mind" with money.
"I can't trust repair work done by anyone other than the manufacturer," he said.
What is "trust"?
We have the correct knowledge and skills to not only sell watches but also work as craftsmen who repair them.

I sometimes hear stories like this,
"If it is repaired by someone other than the manufacturer, it will not be accepted."
If that were true, all brands would go bankrupt long ago.
Every store accepts battery replacements on a daily basis.
As a manufacturer who wants to earn money for repairs, there is no reason not to accept repairs.
The repair details will say things like ``There are traces of repairs done at other shops.''
It is impossible not to repair it.

Please let us know if you are unable to get the product repaired by the manufacturer due to the above.

Let's get back to the topic.
For example, even if a shop like ours does an overhaul like this time,
There will be no problems with manufacturer repairs in the future.
Also, if the user wants to learn more about ``repair'', the cost of maintaining the watch will not be that high.
One-sided assumptions, rumors that cannot be verified, etc.
It would be a waste to just take some information at face value without communicating with the store, even though you could just "consult" with the store.

When you buy a watch, you get so excited that you can't think about what's next.
However, ``buying'' a watch is tantamount to ``repairing'' it.
I've heard many stories of people giving up their watches because they couldn't afford the maintenance costs.
That makes me feel sorry for watches.

I think it's important to choose a watch that takes into consideration how you'll use it in the future.
Isn't the sales person not going to explain that much?
When I hear about the repair costs for the in-house Move brand that has been popular for the past 10 years, I lose interest in buying it.
It's expensive to buy, repair costs are high, and you can't get your own moves repaired anywhere else.

After that, there are people who buy watches privately...
To be honest, I've seen a lot of things that I can't do anything about.
"The case and movement are different", "Parts from other models are assembled"
``In the first place, the entire exterior is a Ko-product'' and so on.
Well, I won't say it directly, but
When I ask where I bought it, I'm often like, "Oh, I knew it."

If we communicate the results, we can learn more about watches,
At the same time, you can also learn about how to interact in the future.
You should listen carefully to the characteristics of the watch and its future maintenance.
It's great to pay high prices.
However, if you can't take good care of it after you buy it, you shouldn't buy it.

All watches handled by our store are maintained,
We choose watches that can be used with confidence even after purchase and that can be maintained in the future.
In the past, we worked at a vintage Rolex specialty store, a warehouse for a famous group, and a company that ranked first in the watch category on an online shopping site...
Based on our own experience, we have established a system so that you can use it with confidence.

Watches are really fun.
Knowing is definitely more interesting than not knowing.
Please feel free to ask us anything when using our store!

We will be closed tomorrow Tuesday.
We look forward to your continued support from Wednesday.
