This time, I'd like to introduce my personal watch, which recently completed its overhaul.

This is the Seiko Lord Marvel 36000, which is very popular in our store.
It's a vintage watch that is one of Seiko's masterpieces,
but the charm of this watch is that it is a "perfectly ordinary" watch that fully embodies the essence of a wristwatch.
Usually, when introducing personal items, they might be rare models that are hard to obtain,
or covetable items that everyone desires.
However, many of my personal items are chosen because I've tried them out myself and liked them, or because they can be used for a long time, with the intention of selling them in the store.
Therefore, I don't own rare models as personal items.
At our company, "the customer is always our top priority" in everything we do.
With that in mind, I've had this watch for nearly 10 years,
and before I knew it, the Lord Marvel series had become a staple item at our store.
I am proud to say that I have the deepest affection and love for this watch in Japan, or even in the world,
and that I have sold the most of them.
It's hard to keep track of how many I've sold now,
but as you can see, the dial of my personal Lord Marvel 36000 has "discolored to a bronze color."
Of course, it's not a re-dial or anything, it's in its original condition,
it's a patination (discoloration) due to age.
A nearly uniform patination, despite some unevenness,
has a certain popularity and value in vintage watches,
and depending on the watch, it can be considered more valuable than those in pristine condition.
However, for this watch, unless you are a true "aficionado," it will likely look like a dirty watch.
Yet, one of the most valuable aspects of vintage watches is that they are "one of a kind."
The decreasing number of existing watches is a fate not limited to wristwatches but applies to all vintage items,
and it's impossible for the number of individual pieces to increase.
That's why many people find value in vintage items,
and they can find interest and enjoyment in how each individual piece has a different condition.
My personal watch is a unique existence in this world, and including those I've handled in the past,
I have never seen a dial discolored so beautifully, before or since.
That's why I use this watch with deep affection,
and along with this overhaul, I also replaced the crystal,
and purchased a new crocodile strap that matches the color of the dial.
This strap also allows for the enjoyment of aging,
so just like the dial, its color will change with use,
and I hope this can serve as a reference for one of the many ways to enjoy watches.
The values of vintage watches are personal, so there's no need to force anything,
but I truly believe that choosing based on your "likes" is the best method of selection,
so much so that I can confidently add the word "absolutely."
This watch, fueled by such "likes," may not be of great value,
but I will use this watch until I die.
