The other day, a friend I've known since elementary school came over from Hiroshima.
One of the few childhood friends I have.
I found out through Instagram that he was in Tokyo for a business trip to an exhibition this time,
When I called him for the first time in a while, he said, "In Shinjuku at night."
Shinjuku is a familiar town where I lived in my twenties.
I wandered around Isetan just before closing time.
From a life of going around to your favorite restaurants every night,
I was suffering from a disease called "lack of money",
It brings back memories of the fun times we spent together as a couple.
This time, I made a reservation for "Bistro Himawari" which I had wanted to go to for a while.
It was a coincidence, or perhaps a miracle, that my wish came true.
I saw her on my favorite show , "Ad Town Heaven," and requested her, and although I tried several times,
Every time, the restaurant is always full and we can't even get in.
Apparently my childhood friend loves this place so much that he leaves all the menu choices to the "experts."
Everything was really delicious and I finally got to experience the warmth and hospitality of a privately owned restaurant.
Most of the restaurants in my neighborhood are chain stores, so it was a valuable experience for me.
After the last order, the second bar was...
We finished off the night at Donzoko, one of the most well-established restaurants in Shinjuku 3-chome.
This is a privately owned store that could be called the "ultimate privately owned store."
Like a thank you to a childhood friend for taking me to a nice restaurant.
I had the famous "Bottom Bottom Cocktail."
I was drunk at the first bar and don't remember what we talked about,
I guess going to a second bar was fun.
Needless to say, I felt bad the next day.
But I do realize that it's good to have friends to have fun with.
So, what were we talking about?
