try reading a book

There's a lot to learn and I'm learning a lot.
A page from the late Masakatsu Ochiai's book.
He is one of the greats who has been involved in the fashion industry for decades and has had a huge impact.
As someone who has been involved with clothes for a long time, I will give my thoughts including the background of that time.
Comparisons of fashion not only in Japan but also overseas, mainly Italy, etc.
Because you can learn a lot of things that you don't know,
I have read many of this author's books.

This may be the case with anything, but anyone can make temporary opinions on things like fads and trends.
However, considering the times and common sense overseas,
“Knowing” can really improve yourself,
You can also have your own way of thinking.
As a result, it's fun to follow trends, but they don't last long.
Once you know something to a certain extent, what you are looking for is good quality rather than fads and trends.

It's not wrong to say that "good quality = expensive", but it's also not correct.
Really high-quality products can be used for a long time, not just temporarily.
The price is high when you first purchase it, but the final cost performance is high. If you look carefully, you will find what you need.
I think it wouldn't cost that much if you could get something that was just a little bit better than many inferior products.

Why am I talking about this this time?
In a conversation with a customer who came the other day,
“I was thinking of buying a new watch from the brand ○○.
The design was a little strange for the price, and when I tried it on, it didn't fit well."
Actually, many customers said the same thing, so I asked them this.
“I decided to buy that brand because it was the cheapest one, right?”
As expected, that was the case.

It's true that shopping at a branded boutique is very exhilarating and highly satisfying.
However, it is definitely a mistake to buy something just because it is your only option even though the price is definitely not cheap.
to someone
``If you're buying something just because it's cheap, you should definitely stop.
But if your reason for buying it is mostly for something other than price, then you should definitely buy it.”
When I heard this story, there was something strangely convincing about it.

In the truest sense, "high quality" means not only price and materials;
Including accidents that can be expected during maintenance and future maintenance,
I wonder if it's worth the money.
It's kind of a waste to only look at the moment when buying something.
I feel like I can figure out what I need if I think about using it carefully for a long time.

“Fashion = things that come and go”
If you think about it this way, your perspective will inevitably expand to include things that are universal.
As I read books and visited various shops, I made unexpected discoveries.
It should be fun to go out.
Yes, shopping is really fun.
