This time I used the "back hand".

Repair of the Omega Seamaster, which I introduced on the blog the other day.

It was completed successfully!!

As I wrote before, this time I will replace the circuit during the overhaul,

It was planned that the exterior would be finished with a new finish, but

The condition of the movement is "worse" than I expected.

The rust was so strong that I managed to get it out, but

Each part is stuck and the screws cannot be turned.

This is the back side.

You can see rust on the terminals and other places.

This is the front side.

The gear train was also completely out, but

I managed to remove just the calendar board.

If it is rusted to this extent, it is not just a problem with the circuit, but the machine itself cannot be used.

Normally, it would be impossible to repair and would be returned to the customer.

Our craftsman has a persistent personality, so he won't give up (lol)

Old Omegas and other machines often use machines made by ETA.

In most cases, we use ETA's move instead of Omega's to fix it.

In that case, all you need to do is replace the circuit,

In many cases, it is okay to just transplant a few parts.

This time, I can't remove the mechanical board, so I'll use a trick.

The secret is... "Replacing the entire movement."

As I mentioned earlier, machines from brands such as Omega are made by ETA.

In other words, if you can get an ETA machine, you can replace it and fix it.

However, due to the current situation, not only machines but also other parts are not available.

They are often out of production or out of stock in Japan.

However, this time, luckily, there was one last identical machine left.

Unlike the previous Omega specification movement, it has a gold finish.

This is a machine produced by ETA, so the colors of the machine plates are different, but they are of the same type.

Each brand often changes the finish when using it for its own products.

Whether it's good or bad, it becomes like an "in-house move" (lol)

This time, we explained to the customer the condition of the watch and how to repair it, and after receiving their consent, we proceeded with the work.

I was really lucky and got the machine, but

Without this, the watch could not have been revived.

The cost of this repair is...

Overhaul ¥16,500,
New finish ¥11,000
Machine replacement ¥38,500
Total ¥66,000

The machine is new, but I don't know when it was manufactured, so I will overhaul it.

Of course, the original machine will be returned to the customer, so

In the future, if I want to have the machine repaired by the manufacturer, I will replace it with an Omega machine and have it repaired.

However, when it comes to manufacturer repairs, we not only offer complete services, but also

It seems that the dial and crown will need to be replaced.

In the worst case scenario, the escape valve and middle case will also need to be replaced.

It may cost more than buying a watch.

When I spoke with the customer, he said, ``I have a lot of feelings towards this watch, so I want to cherish it in the future.''

I replaced the battery properly without sending it to the manufacturer,

They said that they also request our shop for overhauls.

I'm glad that you were satisfied when you received it.

Now you can use it for a long time!
