44GS, one of the rare Grand Seiko models that I purchased the other day.
A customer who came from far away just the other day,
I decided immediately because I was born in the same year as you.
It is rare that the manufacturing year is the same, so
I'm glad that these factors are also a deciding factor in your purchase!
I have handled this 44GS twice in the past,
It is one of the watches that has many mysteries even after examining various materials.
The Kameido factory is the first to manufacture Grand Seiko.
Using almost the same machine as the King Seiko chronometer that was sold at the time,
The stainless steel model used a case called Seiko style,
The cap gold model has the same case as the Kinkuro.
Not only is it the same case as Kinkuro's Cap Gold, but it's also the same model number.
However, since the lion medallion, which is also the symbol of Grand Seiko, was used for Kinkuro,
44GS uses a GS mark medallion.
However, the production of the 44GS itself ended in about two years and it was replaced by the 45GS.
At that time, the case design was unified to the Seiko style for both materials.
I tried to write it down briefly, but it turns out it's rare (lol)
There are not many opportunities to see the stainless steel model 44GS,
I only get Cap Gold a few times a year.
However, the number of pitches for vintage products is decreasing, so
I don't think I'll ever see it again in the future.
However, domestically produced watches from the 1960s were designed for practicality.
Even though it is a rare item, it is still usable.
Isn't this a great point for owners?
It's okay to buy it, but it's not bad to keep it on display, but I don't use the watch anymore.
Use it until it falls apart and then fix it.
I feel like that would be better as a watch,
I feel like I can't bear to use a watch like this...
I guess that kind of thing can be fun!
Anyway, I'm glad you purchased it.
The best thing for me is to go to someone who loves these kinds of watches.
Rarity and topicality may be important, but the most important thing is that you like it.
Please continue to use it with care,
I also want to do proper maintenance.
