Repairing the IWC Portugieser Chronograph that I received a long time ago.
It probably got caught and came off with the winding core bent into the crown.
Also, the tube has come off.
All I had to do was remove the tube, but
This crown with a broken winding core is quite troublesome.
Rather, I basically replace the crown...
However, as I wrote in a past blog, most exterior parts cannot be arranged.
If that happens, it will have to be repaired by the manufacturer, but in this condition it will probably be necessary to replace the case.
The total cost of repairs is estimated to be around 350,000 yen.
You can buy a watch.
This time, when I asked a craftsman for help,
``First of all, I'm going to look for the crown, so if I can't find it, I'll think about it later.''
Well, I can't find these brand parts even if I look for them.
It would be a miracle if it were there, but it's basically not there, so I'm thinking about repairing it without the crown.
The neck this time is "the winding core buried in the crown."
Other than that, honestly, it doesn't matter...
When I looked at the machine, there were many parts that needed adjustment, such as the rotor and mainspring.
This is based on the Valjoux 7750, so it will work out somehow, but
What should I do about the crown in question...?
Thinking about it didn't help, so I decided to remove the broken winding core from the crown.
In fact, the difficult part of this work is that the diameter of the hole in the winding core is approximately 1.5 mm.
If you remove the screw from there, there is a high possibility that the hole will crack.
So I decided to ask a professional to do it.
When confirmed, it is possible to work.
Each craftsman works carefully, so it takes time.
However, since we are not the manufacturer and are doing the work ourselves, there is nothing we can do about it.
Unlike manufacturers who easily replace usable parts,
It's called repair work for a watch shop like ours.
The work this time is overhaul ¥40,000
Crown screw removal ¥20,000
Winding core installation ¥4,000
Rotor rattling adjustment ¥3,000
Hairspring adjustment ¥3,000
Tube installation service various consumption tax total ¥75,600
Here is the finished product
Perfectly back to normal!!
The repairs that I thought would be impossible this time have been completed,
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels strangely happy.
Normally, this is a repair that often requires a third-party crown.
The crown that was originally used can now be used.
All I can say is that I was impressed.
Now you can use it for a long time!
Miraculously, I was able to repair it this time, so
Whether the same response can be applied to other cases is another matter.
However, we cannot proceed without consulting even if it is a bad cause.
