The repair of the timepiece you brought in the other day.
This time it was a bit challenging, but the repair was completed successfully.
This time it was an overhaul of a Grand Seiko First.
Because the parts are originally well-made,
in many cases, repairs can be done smoothly without replacing parts.
However, it seems there was an impact this time, and the jewel was cracked,
and a part called the "uraosae" (setting lever spring) was also damaged.
This movement shares many parts with the Seiko Crown, so substitutions can be made,
but some parts were designed specifically for the Grand Seiko First.
As we proceed with repairs, damaged parts become apparent,
but recently, parts for vintage Seiko models are becoming scarce.
However, fortunately, genuine parts were still available, and this repair was completed successfully.
For repairs of timepieces brought in, we cannot ascertain the condition without first performing work,
so it may take some time to determine if it can be repaired.
