We recently repaired a watch for a customer.
This time, the customer dropped the watch and the glass broke, so we replaced the glass.
Many vintage Cartier models, including the Must Tank,
use mineral glass for the crystal, which can break if subjected to strong impact.
The Must Tank, in particular, has a curved, rectangular glass, which is significantly different in shape from standard glass.
Therefore, even aftermarket parts require a specially designed glass to be installed.
Although we use aftermarket parts, we stock glass for the Must Tank and offer glass replacement for ¥8,800 for the part itself.
If the watch was purchased from our store, we only charge for the part, with no labor fees.
Additionally, when replacing the glass, we also perform a battery replacement and case cleaning.
If only the glass is replaced and the watch stops soon after, it would be a great inconvenience for the customer.
However, please note that for watches brought in for repair, we do not perform parts replacement alone; a complete overhaul is required to include an internal warranty.
Watches, not just vintage ones, can experience problems as long as they are worn.
It's disheartening to hear "we can't repair it" in such situations.
