This is the Geneva Dynamic, a very popular vintage model from Omega.
This is a valuable watch with a two-tone dial, which is particularly popular in the series, and comes with the original bracelet from that time.
Its retro look makes it a classic that still has a loyal following today.
This time, the customer requested an overhaul as the bracelet was missing one link.
They also wanted us to give it a new finish,
First, start with "What should we do with the pieces?"
It takes time to find aftermarket links.
In addition to the same structure, the width and length are also the same thickness.
It's not that easy to find.
I also considered making a separate version, but it would have been quite costly.
I don't know how many months it will take.
But luckily, I had an extra Omega bracelet,
The shape and size of the pieces are exactly the same.
So I transplanted one piece and started working.
This watch has a one-piece case without a back cover,
I remove the windshield and crown to take out the mechanism,
The crystal is stuck to the case and won't come off.
Since the watch has not been overhauled for many years, dirt has accumulated in the gap between the crystal and the case.
This seems to have hardened over time.
If you try to remove it by force, you will damage the windshield.
I decided to have a professional craftsman remove the windshield.
After about three weeks of work, the windshield was successfully removed.
The damage to the machine was less than expected.
Internal repairs were completed through a regular overhaul.
All that's left to do is give the exterior a new finish and install the machine into the case.
Although the work took much longer than expected, we were able to deliver the product to the customer without any problems.
