We recently received a request for an overhaul of a Cartier Must Tank.
Since it had been nearly 10 years since its purchase,
we performed thorough maintenance.
Even for quartz watches, after 10 years, the lubricating oil in the movement dries up,
making an overhaul essential.
Rarely, a watch may operate normally for over 10 years with just battery replacements,
which makes us marvel at the durability of quartz watches, but these are truly rare cases.
In most cases, battery leakage causes rust in the movement,
or some kind of circuit malfunction may occur.
However, for Must Tank models, we stock multiple circuits
and have several movements available, so you can rest assured that repairs can be carried out.
For watches brought in for repair, we clean the exterior and perform an overhaul,
just as we would for watches purchased from our store.
The case discoloration is removed, cleaned, and the movement is disassembled and cleaned.
This time, the customer wished to use the watch for many years to come,
so we also replaced the band.

After repair, as before, please avoid using the watch near water or in humid conditions,
strong impacts such as hitting or dropping it,
and magnetic fields from electronic devices like smartphones and tablets or magnets.
If you take these precautions, you can continue to enjoy your watch for many years.
