Last year (well, about two weeks ago), I went to visit Ise Shrine .
This is my 14th time visiting Ise Shrine.
Before I knew it, I was visiting the shrine every year at the end of the year.
However, I usually go on a day trip and avoid the crowded times,
It feels a bit wasteful that we didn't do any sightseeing or strolling around other than praying,
If you are going to worship alone, that may be enough.
When I first went to Ise Shrine, I thought, "What a divine place!"
It may have just been my imagination, but I felt a difference in the atmosphere around me.
If there is such a thing as a "Land of the Gods," then Ise Shrine is undoubtedly its center.
The act of praying at such sacred places, as well as praying at a shrine,
Instead of "asking for a gift" like at Christmas,
I read in a book somewhere that it's a place to confirm what you need.
Close your eyes, take stock of the past year, and express your gratitude.
Someday it will become an annual routine,
I am grateful that I was able to visit Ise Shrine safely in 2025.
I hope I can go to Ise Shrine again at the end of this year.
