Recently, a customer requested watch repair.
This time, the request was for an overhaul, but since many parts needed to be replaced,
it took quite a long time to complete.

This watch was over 5 years old since purchase, so it was time for an overhaul.
Since the exterior also had small scratches from regular use,
we also received a request for exterior polishing.
Upon checking the internal condition, we found wear on the parts,
and this time, the mainspring, setting lever screw, and balance staff needed replacement.
Recently, the prices of Rolex parts have soared,
with part costs ranging from several thousand yen to tens of thousands of yen depending on the part,
making regular overhauls even more crucial.
This time, the mainspring and setting lever screw were readily available,
but the balance staff was difficult to obtain and required custom manufacturing.
It was initially scheduled to be completed in about 3 months,
but due to the craftsman's busy schedule, it took 5 months.
We sincerely apologize to our customer for the long wait,
but the work has been successfully completed and the watch has been delivered.
This time, the costs were:
Overhaul: ¥30,800
Polishing: ¥11,000
Mainspring replacement: ¥8,800
Setting lever screw replacement: ¥9,900
Balance staff replacement: ¥38,500
Total: ¥99,000
Even with the soaring cost of parts this time, the repair cost is certainly not cheap.
We do our best to keep prices as low as possible,
but it is undoubtedly a significant expense for those requesting repairs.
All watch parts are consumable, so
they will eventually need to be replaced with use.
However, to minimize part wear,
regular overhauls are absolutely necessary and important.
Especially for watches with hard-to-obtain parts,
the importance of maintenance is greater than imagined.
This time, the repair was successful,
but please request regular overhauls to prevent major repairs!
