We recently received a watch repair request from a valued customer.
This time, we performed an overhaul and mainspring replacement.
The customer reported that the crown spun freely when winding, and upon inspection,
we found that the mainspring was broken.
In a hand-wound watch, the mainspring is the most active part, and like the battery in a quartz watch, it is a consumable component.
Although it will eventually need to be replaced, we keep stock parts, and we try to have as many parts as possible for popular Omega models.
This movement is the Cal. 625, which was widely used in the 1970s, so having mainsprings in stock is essential.
Additionally, it was also time for regular maintenance, so we proceeded with the work.
This time:
Overhaul: ¥19,800
Mainspring replacement: ¥8,800
Total: ¥28,600
Now the watch can be enjoyed for many more years.
