This time, the move to Odaiba will be
“It would be fun to live here someday.”
From a casual word I said a dozen years ago.
When I lived in Tokyo,
The residential area of Odaiba is called "The Towers", which is just across the Rainbow Bridge.
The tower apartments that have just been built in the bay area are famous.
After that, commercial facilities and offices were built, and there were not many areas where people could live.
If I were to live in Ariaka Toyosu next door,
All areas are popular and rents are expensive.
Still, at that time there were only vacant lots and construction work was being carried out to connect the Metropolitan Expressway.
After it was decided that the Olympics would be held, there was a construction boom.
Nowadays, it has been reborn as an area like a big city,
For us, living in the bay area is a dream come true.
As I wrote in a past blog, my child was born with a congenital disorder.
I moved from Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture, where I was living at the time, to Hiroshima, where my parents lived.
The child's surgery was completed successfully thanks to a doctor who is considered one of the best doctors in Japan.
At the same time, he returned to Hiroshima but had no job.
From there, preparations for starting a business begin in earnest.
Ever since I lived in Kisarazu, I have had meetings with judicial scriveners at the library.
Raising a child with a crying child and starting a business are all new to me.
To put it simply, I have nothing but anxiety.
If we were rich, it might have been resolved a little, but
The budget from moving to starting the business was just 3 million yen.
After exploring all possible options, the application for a subsidy from the government was approved.
Still, I had to start a shop with capital that was far from what I could afford.
From a real estate agent who walked around in the hot sun,
They laughed and said, ``Your business can't pay the rent.''
To put it bluntly, I can only feel despair beyond anxiety.
After some despair, I managed to open a business.
We were truly supported by many customers.
The phrase ``If there is a God who throws away, there is a God who picks up'' is strangely familiar to me.
I think the results were more than worth the effort.
It has been about three years since I started my business in Hiroshima, and I have gained a lot of experience.
In February 2018, I started a new challenge in Fukuoka.
We welcome more customers than ever before,
We were able to run the store the way we wanted.
Including pop-ups at famous select shops,
We were able to show our presence in many areas.
My family and business partners who cooperated with me,
And thanks to all our customers across Japan who supported us.
In 2024, which will be the 10th year since our establishment,
We will make an almost impossible dream come true that started from a casual word.
A person who was below average with no great talent, money, or merit,
This should be a year in which you can make things you thought you could never do into reality.
It's a new office where I've just stored my belongings for the time being.
It starts here.
It took 10 years, but
From the land called "Tokyo" that raised us,
So that more customers can enjoy vintage watches,
We will create a wonderful stage where you can meet people not only from Japan but from all over the world.
I can't help but look forward to it now.
We are happy to be able to return to Tokyo for our work, but at the same time,
More challenges will arise.
With this relocation, if we continue as usual, we will inevitably go bankrupt.
There is no future unless you aim to go even higher than before.
The world is moving so fast that conventional wisdom no longer applies.
In any era, if we don't change with the times, we will have no future.
Even if a casual dream comes true, if you can't keep it going, it's meaningless.
So that I can grow even more.
