We recently received a watch repair request from a customer.
This time, they requested an overhaul, a crystal replacement because the crystal was cracked,
and a strap replacement.
This is Seiko's masterpiece, the Lord Marvel.
It's a model released soon after a minor change to the initial model,
and is renowned for its perfected design, high accuracy, and durability.
The current request was for an overhaul because the crystal cracked after the customer bumped the watch during use and also because nearly 10 years had passed since its purchase.
The strap was also damaged, so we recommended a strap replacement, and they found a strap they liked, so we replaced it as well.
This time, the cost was:
Overhaul: ¥19,800
Crystal replacement: ¥8,800
Strap replacement: ¥7,700
Total: ¥36,300
There was no major internal damage, so the work was completed as usual.
We are amazed by the excellence of Seiko, with no parts damaged even after 10 years.
However, this time it was just by chance that no parts needed replacement,
so we recommend requesting an overhaul once every three years if possible.
