大事なものこそメンテナンスを‼

Maintenance is what is important!

This is an old Seiko quartz diver that I requested the other day.

Seiko's quartz diver was very popular in the 1980s.

I had the impression that most adults wore them when I was a child.

You can tell that he is attached to the bezel by the scratches on it.

It's similar to what we would call a G-Shock or a smartwatch today, and it's durable and easy to use.

Honestly, you could call it the "truth" of watches.

The watch itself is affordable and easy to buy.

Once you get used to watches like this, mechanical watches start to seem like a hassle.

This time, it was an item entrusted to me by my grandfather.

It seems that various shops have been asked to replace the battery.

However, even after replacing the battery, it still does not work and I am told that an overhaul is required.

There were no shops that would actually do an overhaul.

Therefore, we received a request for repair from our shop.

After hearing about this, I decided to consult a craftsman first.

"Please send it to me for now!" and requested an overhaul.

This time, the repair was completed using the normal process without any major damage such as leakage.

I also cleaned the case and bracelet as the exterior was dirty.

This time

Overhaul (including battery replacement) ¥16,500

This way, I was able to use things for a long time and take care of them at the same time.

Considering the repair cost, I think replacing it would be an option.

It's surprisingly not easy to replace something you're used to.

I've been using it for years, repairing bags and shoes myself.

Considering the repair cost, it is cheaper to replace it.

However, when it comes to something that has been used enough to become familiar to you, it's not about the price;

Because it is like ``a part of me,'' it cannot be replaced.

When it comes to watches, there are some things that can't be fixed, so I'll try to repair it after I try.

Because I have shared time with myself and walked through life,

I'd like to see the option of ``fixing it if it breaks'' instead of replacing it.

The most important thing is to not leave it behind even if it breaks!
