The Mast Tank was manufactured in 1977, but production of the manual winding version ceased in the mid-80s.
This black Roman dial is only available in manual winding models.
They disappeared when quartz was introduced, and the history of the Mast Tank came to an end around 2004 without being revived.
This model features a gold case, black dial, and Roman design typical of Cartier, which further enhances its luxurious feel.
The dial remains the same as it was over 40 years ago and is highly original as it has not been replaced in later years.
The dials of the Mast Tanks of this era are painted with clear lacquer.
Most of the original pieces that remain to this day have cracked lacquer.
However, because it is transparent, it is barely noticeable to the naked eye, but is only faintly visible when held up to light.
The case has been re-plated at our shop, so it is in very good condition.
