The so-called 45GS, introduced in 1968, was the first Grand Seiko to feature the manual-winding hi-beat movement Cal. 4520A.

It also featured the distinctive Seiko Style case design,

and remains one of the historically significant masterpieces of Japanese watches that continues to attract global attention today.

This piece later had a profound influence on many watches, including other Seiko models.
