「シェル文字盤」は要注意。

Be careful with the "shell dial".

Repair of the clock that I requested the other day.

This time we will introduce Hermes' popular model "Clipper".

It has been about 10 years since you purchased it, and the time delay has become noticeable.

This time, along with the overhaul, we also gave the exterior a new finish.

As you can see, this is a "shell dial" that uses mother-of-pearl on the dial.

This shell dial is weak against impact and may crack if hit or dropped.

Also, when pulling out the needle, I use a tool called Kenbuki.

Even just hitting this can cause a crack.

Therefore, one of the repairs that craftsmen hate is this shell dial.

Usually, there is an additional labor charge, but

If you request it at our store, we will not charge you any labor fees for repairing the shell dial.

However, in the unlikely event that it breaks, we will let you know and repair it.

This time, there was no problem with the circuit, and the repair was completed with an overhaul.

Prices…

Overhaul ¥16,500 (battery replacement included)
New finish ¥11,000
Total ¥27,500

We will check the accuracy until the end of next week and if there are no problems, we will hand it over to the customer.

Even if it is a battery-powered watch, it will not work properly without machine oil.

Although it depends on the machine, the time delay may start to become noticeable after about 7 years.

In rare cases, there may be no problems for more than 10 years.

If the battery does not work properly after replacing the battery, it will be overhauled.

If you are concerned about the time difference with your battery-powered watch, please feel free to contact us.

Please avoid leaving a dead battery unattended!
