The 44GS is commonly known as the "Phantom Grand Seiko" due to its extremely short production period of just two years.

The first Grand Seiko was produced at the Kameido factory alongside the high-end King Seiko model of the time.

This is one of the historical masterpieces that established designs that continue to this day, such as the case design known as the Seiko style.

The movement is a hand-wound Cal. 4420B equipped with a second hand regulation device, making it a rare model with enthusiastic fans both in Japan and overseas.
